Overview

The CTP Programme for STEM High School Students was held from 28 to 31 July 2024 at the BUE Science and Innovation Park, It featured lecture series by CTP members, There were also student project and training courses. The tutorials ranged from elementary introductions to cosmology and galaxy formation, special and general relativity, as well as quantum mechanics and particle physics. The level of the students and their aptitude for apprehending complex topics was surprising, and the familiarity of some with current research trends was even more surprising. Even if it merely showed again how the tackled topics inspire and attract bright young minds. Indeed, this was the Centre's first experience with high school students, and the response was overwhelming. Almost a thousand applications were received from various types of high schools in Egypt, of which a subset of the STEM students were chosen for this first event.
