BUE,CTP International Conference on Neutrino Physics in the LHC Era

The Center for Theoretical Physics (CTP) at the British University in Egypt is organizing an international conference on on " Neutrino Physics in the LHC era" In Luxor from November 15th to November 19th 2009. The conference is the first meeting of a continuing series of International Conferences, in cooperation with CERN theory division, on the most important topics of physics, related to the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) measurements.
In the coming years, particle physics will develop in two major directions. The LHC will be the world's largest and highest-energy particle accelerator, designed to collide two beams of protons at an energy of 7 TeV per beam. In parallel, several long-baseline neutrino experiments will be probing oscillation parameters and searching for CP-violating effects. The aim will be to explore the links between the LHC, neutrino physics and related research fields in particle and astroparticle physics.
LHC may have direct and indirect impacts on neutrino physics. These could include the identification of the mechanism of neutrino mass generation, if it occurs at the TeV scale. In addition, the discovery of any new physics beyond the Standard Model, such as supersymmetry or extra dimensions, will raise new questions in flavour physics. Specifically, it may provide a mechanism for linking neutrino flavour mixing to flavour-violating effects that may be visible at the LHC.
We aim to bring together experts in both theory and experiment to discuss different aspects of neutrino and LHC physics, with emphasis on current experimental data and their theoretical interpretation.
