Facilities

The British University in Egypt is located in the area of El Sherouk, one of the new residential and industrial cities in Egypt on the outskirts of Cairo. The University campus covers approximately 40 acres of land. The first phase of the University campus was already under construction and the University welcomed its first cohort of undergraduate students in September 2005.

Development of the campus is progressing rapidly and the next phase of new buildings and facilities is scheduled was completed in March 2006. Included in this phase is a large scale auditorium and state-of-the-art conference facilities, new Library and administration and academic staff buildings and a recreational complex.

The Centre for Theoretical Physics is currently occupying offices at the BUE. Its facilities will include access to seminar rooms, lecture theatres as well as conference facilities. We will also be establishing an up to date research library, including subscriptions to leading scientific journals. Additional, suitable, computational facilities will also form part of this development.
